Now don’t get me wrong. I am not promoting or suggesting you sign up to an MLM company. However, I do know that people are always being approached by family, friends, and strangers to be recruited to the next best MLM company to come in their area. So I figured, if you are considering to buy into the sales pitch for the next best network marketing company, you should at least be signing up to a statistically proven top MLM program out there.
Depending on your age and experience this may be the first time someone approached you to start your home based, small initial investment business by signing up as a distributor for a product that will only skyrocket in sales over the next year. You will be told that the time to sign up is now! Sign up before the local area residents realize how all other products are not able to compete with the effectiveness of this new innovative and scientifically proven product.
That line comes straight out of the sales pitch book for dummies! Most often used when MLM distributors are trying to recruit YOU as their next potential downline distributor. They will tell you that they know exactly how to grow your MLM business, how to get leads and get new customers for your business.
There is nothing wrong with this sales pitch. We hear it all the time with any salesperson trying to have you buy something. They tell you things like,”The price will go back to regular price tomorrow…so buy it now!” or “This is the last one, and I had someone interested in buying it this morning, I will not be able to hold onto it for you.” So it should be no surprise that MLM recruiters will work on your fears to have you sign up there and then before you research the company and product. “Sign up today otherwise you will be ten positions further down the line tomorrow, I have people waiting to get on, but I want you as my top guy!”
Over the years, I’ve learned it is better to sleep on it. Your brain has time to process the information, and you will also have some time to do some research…which is likely why you are here now. Good for you for stopping to think about it.
Unfortunately, my habitual ways of buy now think later still kicks in now and then. Maybe once I’m 100 years old I will have learned my lesson.
So even though I’ve been approached and burned in the past, I still have moments I get caught up in the hype of the sales pitch. It is for that reason they continue to use the same tactic, and these companies continue to make huge profits.
What’s that saying? A sucker born every minute. I guess that makes me a born again sucker!
One thing I have learned without any doubt is that there are better ways to earn extra money than joining an MLM. I’ll talk about how I got into affiliate marketing further down.
Launched late 2015 and based out of Scottsdale Arizona. As a ZynTravel affiliate, you have access to discounts on resorts, hotels and timeshares worldwide. You will have access to 400,000+ hotels worldwide with savings of up to 85%. You can create a whole travel package with airlines, car rentals, and clubs while cutting out third-party booking engines and pay yourself with bonuses instead.
They have 2 membership levels Gold $149 and Platinum $499; both membership levels have a $19.99 setup fee & $14.99-month fee. Each level provides you with a list of features. A Gold membership gives you 25% customer travel commission, customer referral program, customer 2×2 cycle bonus, customer travel bonus, customer matching bonus, customer bonus pool, $300 travel credit and a Gold Cycle-Pod of $300 each time completed. The Platinum level provides you all the same features as the Gold with an additional customer Lifestyle bonus and a global customer bonus, $750 travel credit and Platinum & Gold Cycle-Pod of $700 + $300 each time completed.
The idea of this MLM is that you get to visit exotic global destinations at unbelievable prices, build a business while helping others travel and you get to earn a residual income. It describes that you can earn while you travel. Once you are a member, you are provided marketing tools, training materials, webinars and conference calls.
This MLM would be best suited for those that enjoy traveling as it may provide you a way to get discounts and possibly earn a commission if you help others with their travel plans. Still too soon to say if one can make a living with this type of MLM but then again remember I question if anyone can make a living with MLMs.
Not all that new in the MLM business, created in 2002 but what is new is how it is starting to show some of the strongest upward trends. Cabi is currently in the top 3 trending MLMs this past month with 47.65% increase as reported by Quivex media.
Cabi carries a variety of clothing, jewelry, and accessories that members sell at home party environments. They describe the key to their success is that they are not only selling a product or brand but a lifestyle and connections. They inspire women to be confident, building relationships that provide a strong sense of community.
The MLm compensation plan consists of 3 ways to make an income. 1-Personal sales provide you with a commission of 25% to 33%. 2-You receive commissions on all the items your team sells. 3- Inventory sales- your initial investment or seasonal inventory is $2570 with shipping plus taxes. If you sell at least 70% of your seasonal inventory at 50% off, you will earn $3000.
The good thing about this type of MLM is the fact you have products where you can host home parties. This model has proven to be effective in maintaining a companies longevity such as Avon, Tupperware, and Pampered Chef to name a few. The downside is that the initial investment is quite high and with the possibility to earn $3000 from selling 70% of that inventory with 50% off tells me that the products must be marked up to very high prices which may make it a hard sell.
This type of MLM would be suited best for those willing to carry around boxes of inventory to people’s homes, do measurements, deal with returned products due to sizing issues, really enjoy having up and coming styles so they won’t mind having inventory left over if they are unable to sell it.
Beauty and Fashion MLM launched in 2012. Similar to Cabi, members or I should say presenters promote their products trough home parties and a new trend of virtual online parties. They are unique in basing their sales through the use of social media.
The company creators are a brother and sister team, which also ran another for about 7 years preceding called Netsteps which made the Inc 500 list in 2010.
New presenters are taught how to apply their products and host home parties or can present online parties. The presenters are also supplied with a wealth of online marketing graphics and images that they can use on their social media pages.
The sign-up cost is a fee of $99 US to be a presenter. The fee covers the cost of a beauty kit which is described as having a worth of $225.00. That price actually doesn’t sound like a scam, compared to some other MLMs with their high up-front costs, some without any real product, but I digress, move on to the products.
The initial beauty kit is for demonstration purposes. The presenter will use the kit to use on themselves; then they can be utilized as a promotional image to share on social media. These images then can be used by any other presenter to use online.
The kit includes the following:
Compensation plans is a mixture of earning enough sale points to maintain our active status, royalties or percentage of sales from 20% to 30% with added generation royalties. There is, of course, a car incentive and chance to earn a trip to Cozumel, Mexico.
Younique is a relatively new MLM using modern day tools to help you sell your products. No need to lug around products if you do parties online and the products are shipped directly to the customer.
Sure these are some of the newest and trendiest MLMs out there as of now, but that doesn’t mean I think you should sign up to them. My wife and I know all about signing up to the best and newest MLMs out there. You can read more about that in some of our other blogs like this one here.
The reason I chose ZynTravel, Cabi, and Younique as the best newest MLMs is for the reason that they have something that members can use. Most people want to travel, so having the option to get some discounts doesn’t hurt should you not be all that successful in selling it to others. The Cabi and Younique have products that always has a market with clothing and makeup. The prices may be high for some but have you seen some of the store prices these days? These MLMs are not all that unreasonable in comparison.
I wrote earlier that I was a born again sucker. That is because my wife and I have signed up for a total of 3 MLMs so far…I say, so far, because who knows if we really learned our lesson. Every time we say never again…yet there we were 1, 2 and 3 times giving over our money. The third time is a funny story where I ended up getting my money back, but I’ll leave that for another blog.
You are probably wondering why I am telling you about the top MLM companies if I don’t suggest you sign up for them, right?
It comes down to trying to help people first, become trustworthy and point them in the right direction. I tell you that I wish I had access to this type of information in my younger years.
I think one of the reasons you landed on this page was to look for a way to either earn extra money or make a living that allows you the flexibility to work your hours. Whatever your reasons I say don’t waste your time on MLMs. There is a reason some of them make billions in sales every year, and that is mainly because so many people quit before regaining their costs put into the company. Studies show that 90% plus of MLM members fails at restoring their initial expenditure, that is to say, they do not make any profit.
My recommendation is to stay clear of MLM opportunities. Start your own business, specifically an online business. You can certainly peruse some other options on my “Home-Based Business Option” page, but one thing you will notice in their descriptions on how to create a successful business is to have an online presence.
You probably don’t believe me. If that is the case all I can inform you that building a website is the easy part. Getting people to come see your site is the hardest. When I stumbled onto My #1 Recommended site, I already had some basic website building knowledge and had a couple of personal websites already, but I had no clue how to get people to visit my site other than word of mouth or invite my minimal amount of friends to visit.
I remembered seeing some young people making videos about how to find the best kimchi in Korea. How they started out as a hobby to help people that moved to Korea from other countries find the best kimchi that ended up leading them having an enormous following. They needed to stop their day job and hired 7+ people to run their website.
I wanted to learn how to have that kind of success. I searched for years only to get scammed to pay a few dollars here and there only to get useless information packages. Then as I was Googling “Kyani Scam” I landed on a fellow that was in pretty much the same situation that I am now. He fell for some money-making schemes in the past, but then he found a way to create a successful online business without any uplines, downlines or sidelines.
He created his website, and he was helping people to stay away from scams trying to take your money.
What sold me was the fact he directed me to a site that was free, no credit card to register and I was given up front answers to my questions.
My online journey started in 2008 when I was tired of working for somebody else. I searched the internet for years trying to find out how to make a living from home with an online business. In 2015 I finally found the information and support from a website just like this one
