How to Teach Yoga Online

Do you live a healthy lifestyle and have a good grasp on doing yoga?

Good enough to teach others how to do it?

If you answered yes to both of these questions then this is the perfect time to take advantage of your expertise to teach Yoga classes online.

Learn How To Teach Yoga Online

This blog will inform you how to create an online presence so you can teach Yoga to the masses.

I was really surprised to see that Yoga trending outperforms topics like exercise or weight loss by over 50%.

I didn’t believe it either until I looked it up on Google trends…see it to believe it below.

This is a live Google trend view:

Teaching Platform

Great! You made it this far…which means you are ready to do this teaching online thing.

Are you wondering where to start?

Well you can do the obvious choice these days. You can start like many people do and create YouTube videos.

That is not what I suggest!

One of the main reasons I don’t recommend to solely count on YouTube is because you don’t own the platform.

You can work months or years building your YouTube following only for them to change their rules and you lose everything in a Snap!

You need to think long term and ideally create a Request for Proposal  so you have a written plan.

I say this because you will want to build your brand, something where people will recognize your training when they see an icon, keyword, title or your picture.

You want to create your brand that will identify you as an authority, in this case as an authority of Yoga.

You will need to decide and plan what you want your online business to look like and what is its mission.

Yes your online buisness. The idea is that you are not doing all this teaching for free…right?

Eventually you will want to make money from all your hard work so consistency of your brand and mission is important throughout the process.

So if you can’t use YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or any other platform that you can spread your brand, what are you to do?

Easy…build a website!

You may reply, “That’s not so easy Paul!”

It is actually quite easy.

I started this website in about 2 minutes but I had training and support from a web-hosting platform called Wealthy Affiliate that I have no reservations as saying it is the best place to setup your website.

You can also use web-hosting sites like Wix and GoDaddy but I’ve tried them and find that they are nowhere close to being as good in service and value as Wealthy Affiliate.

Getting Traffic

So now that you’ve built your website thousands of people will visit your site…Not!

You will get none…that I can guarantee. Not at first anyhow.

You will need to add content and give it time for the search engines to index your site.

This is all explained in detail at Wealthy Affiliate.

Sorry if I sound like I am blowing their horn but it is a reality and they have been in this business for a long time.

To explain it briefly, search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo want to give the users the best experience possible.

They also want to make money with paid ads, so they find a balance by showing relevant ads at the top, side and bottom of the search results. Then they list the most appropriate results on the first page of results.

Your goal is to get your site and posts on that first page when people search about Yoga.

Just by opening a new website with the word Yoga in it will not get you there.

Your site may not even rank at any level in the search engine…it’s like you are invisible.

The search engines will start noticing you once you start adding relevant and original content to your site.

They also watch to see if you are consistently adding and updating your site.

Some websites sit dormant for years so that content is likely outdated, so the search engines have ways to weed those out from the results as well.

The search engines also like sites that are actively communicating with their readers, whether from direct comments on your website or through social media.

Yes I know, I said don’t use those social media sites.

It’s not that you can’t use them but you don’t want your whole business based on a platform that is not yours.

All this process takes time but if you keep at it and add 3-4 videos or blogs per week…in 3-6 weeks you will start seeing traffic coming to your site.

Monetizing Your Training

Once you have traffic/readers/customers coming to your site, then you can start thinking about how you can earn an income from this traffic.

You can use a number of ways to earn an income some without you having to ask for any money from the reader.

This is called affiliate marketing.

Another way is by direct sales.

You can develop your own training video that you can sell or have people sign up as a member for regular updated training material or daily live Yoga sessions.

To sell your training videos, you can create a digital product and sell it on  sites like ClickBank or Amazon for example.

There are many layers to online marketing, these examples are not even scratching the surface.

To create good content that can be sold again I suggest taking the training and support available at Wealthy Affiliate by clicking on that big banner at the bottom of this page.

Or you can try your luck with Wix and GoDaddy.

Stay in First Place

Once you get on that first page of those search engine results you’ll want to stay there.

It’s not easy being at the top as there will always be new sites and videos trying to knock you off your thrown.

To stay in first place you need to continue adding new / fresh content regularly and interacting with your audience.

One way to ensure that your content has a fighting chance at staying at the top is to use keywords in your content that doesn’t compete with the big boys.

There is no doubt it will be difficult to stay above huge companies that have thier own marketing team and writers that can pump out content like an assembly line.

What you want to do is choose topics and keywords (those words or phrases that automatic populate when you start typing in Google or Bing) that are not as competitive.

An example is the word Yoga. As shown in the trending, it is a very popular word and you will be competing with thousands if not millions of other sites and blogs to be at the top.

So you’ll want to use keywords that may not guarantee as much traffic but it will get you up to the front page so you can get most if not all the traffic related to that search.

Conclusion
